Ilisaqsivik is an organization of Inuit who are rebuilding their community and their future.
In traditional terms, we are a community-led not-for-profit in Clyde River. In reality, we are the beating heart of the community—doing whatever is needed and doing it in a way that works for Inuit.
Ilisaqsivik has been operating as an Inuit-led not-for-profit for 25 years
We are unique in that we are governed by a local Inuit volunteer community board of directors. All programs and services are led and delivered by Inuit, in Inuktitut.
Our Inuit-led programs are wide-ranging and often unprecedented
Everything from building our town’s library to a school breakfast program, from Inuktitut-language counselling to a Heritage and Research Centre and to the creation of a social enterprise. But our work does have a common thread – increasing wellbeing and personal potential of Nunavummiat.
